Bahawalpur - Additional District and Sessions Judge Bahawalpur Muhammad Asim accompanied by Senior Civil Judge Bahawalpur Nadeem Yousuf paid a visit to Center Jail Bahawalpur in the light of the orders of Lahore High Court.
On the arrival of the judges, the well-armed contingent of Central Jail Bahawalpur greeted them. The Judges inspected the PCO, Jail Women’s Ward, Jail Hospital, Kitchen Prisoners and various barracks.
Meanwhile, the Additional District and Sessions Judge ordered the release of six minors belonging to Bahawalpur district on personal bail. Jail Superintendent Shahram Tauqeer Khan and Deputy Superintendent Executive Asad Tariq were also present on the occasion.
Mehfil-ii- Milad ceremony held
Mehfil-ii- Milad ceremony was held at Divisional Directorate of Public Relations, Bahawalpur on October 15.
Director Public Relations Dr. Nasir Hameed, Deputy Director Syed Abid Hassan Rizvi, Accounts Officer Jam Ghulam Asghar, Administrative Assistant in charge Fazal Mahmood and all the staff participated in the ceremony. Qari Muhammad Muneeb recited Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH) and Salam in Mehfil-e-Milad. Addressing the function, Director Public Relations, Dr. Nasir Hamdi said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a mercy for all the worlds. Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) life is a guide and a beacon for human beings all over the world, he said. At the end of the ceremony, a special prayer was offered for the security and prosperity of the country.

Bahawalpur - Students of Islamia University Bahawalpur bagged first positions in Naat recitation competitions across the province. According to details,in honour of the first holy month of Rabi-Al-Awwal, the Islamic University of Bahawalpur is celebrating the glorious week of Rehmat-ul-Ulameen.
Hafiz Amir Masroor, Senior Vice President, Recitation and Naat Society, a promising student of Islamia University, Bahawalpur, bagged the first position in the beautiful recitation competition across Punjab.
Similarly, Mahim Tahir, a student of Islamia University, Bahawalpur, bagged the first position in the women’s category in Naat competitions across Punjab. Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob while offering special congratulations to the position holder students.
He reiterated that the university would continue to provide training to the students not only in academic but also in extra-curricular activities with the same enthusiasm. Director Seerat Chair, Faculty of Islamic Learning, Prof Dr Sheikh Shafiqul Rehman also congratulated the students and said that the main purpose of establishing Seerat Chair is to inculcate in the students a desire to live according to the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
He said that he is proud that the students not only participated in these competitions in large numbers but also made the name of the institution famous by securing prominent positions.
