Karachi is, perhaps, the most unlucky metropolitan in Pakistan for it is never truly out of problems even when the overall conditions in country seem alright. The issue to trump all issues here these days is that of target killings which are simply continuing without a break. This week, two persons linked to an important political party were reported dead. All major stakeholders involved in this gang war are at the end of their tether. The authorities need to take serious notice and intervene, as should indeed all major stakeholders because the unending string of these incidents is now disrupting the harmony of this city and seriously hampering even the financial activities that are vital for the whole country. The people also have a responsibility to uncover the murderers and marauders that roam freely in the city destroying it. Mutual cooperation between the citizens, police and government should make some difference. -ZAINAB ALI, Islamabad, September 15.
