Fazl says SC can't curtail Parliament's powers

LOWER DIR The Chief of the JUI-F and Chairman Kashmir Committee Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Wednesday, said there was a tussle going on among different institutions in the country. Talking to local journalists at Chakdara, Maulana said the Supreme Court under the constitution could not curtail powers of the Parliament. Terrorism cannot be eradicated in the country until Pakistan withdraws from the so-called war on terror, Maulana Fazl said while responding to a question. About the ongoing conflict in the held Kashmir, he said for the first time, he had been invited to attend next meeting of the UN General Assembly where he would raise strong voice for Kashmiri brethren. He claimed the UN had taken serious notice of the Kashmir issue for the first time, as it was observing brutalities of the Indian army. The JUI leader alleged that the federal and provincial governments had not played their due roles during the recent disaster in Pakistan. He said a solid strategy would be worked out during a meeting of the Constitutional Reforms Committee of the Parliament for ending controversies among the pillars of the state. Maulana Fazlur Rehman also condoled the death of the mother of the former provincial chief of the JUI Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan on the occasion. Provincial General Secretary and MNA Maulana Muhammad Qasim, Senator Haji Ghulam Ali, former MNA Maulana Shujaul Mulk and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.
