Mother of four tortured to death

LAHORE - An electrician allegedly tortured his 32-year-old spouse to death, mother of four, over petty dispute at Ghousia Colony in Sherakot police limits on Wednesday, investigators said. The deceased identified as Shahida Bibi, resident of Bund Road near Shezan Factory. SHO Sherakot police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Ghulam Abbas said Mohammad Ameen, an electrician by profession in a private factory, got infuriated over petty issue and snatched a wooden piece from her which is used as shaking tool for making butter when she was working early in the morning. He victimised her of severe torture on her head, shoulder and other parts of her body, the SHO said. He however believed the matter was resolved at that time and her condition was also recovered but it might be an inner wound, which caused her death. Police after being informed reached the spot and shifted the body to the City morgue for autopsy, which was handed over to her paternal heirs after necessary medico-legal formalities. Police have also registered a murder case against Mohammad Ameen on the statement of Mohammad Waris, brother of the deceased. Further investigations were underway with no arrest so far.
