LAHORE The Lahore High Court (LHC) Wednesday adjourned for two weeks further hearing of the petition moved earlier by PML(N) MPA Shumaila Rana to seek restoration of her membership in the Assembly after she had resigned in the wake of a credit card scandal which later on, proved false against her. Ms Rana blames her party leadership for forcibly getting resignation from her when the same was also promptly accepted by the Speaker Punjab Assembly. Following the court direction, a reply to the petition was filed by the Speaker Assembly which dominantly apprised the court that speaker had no power to recall the resignation and restore the petitioner to the membership which was prerogative of the Election Commission.
