LAHORE – The people need real change and a system based on justice providing equal opportunities to all, said PTI chief Imran Khan on Saturday.
According to a press statement, PTI chief Imran Khan, addressing a public meeting in Chitral, claimed that neither President Asif Zardari nor PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif could dare to visit the area.
He maintained that public funds were used for personal projects of a politician in Multan and Rs 37 billion were utilized for the construction of 22 kilometre road in Lahore.
Imran alleged that the rulers did not pay any heed to the problems of the people and instead concentrated on minting money through corruption.
He claimed that PTI’s vision of a new Pakistan would transform the life of each Pakistani a success story, as the decisions regarding their problems would be taken in their respective regions.
Imran added that the incumbent rulers were interested in grabbing more powers, while the PTI would transfer it to the people in letter and spirit.
Referring to the troubles and militancy that had engulfed the region, PTI chief said Pakistan’s partnership with the US in its so-called war on terror had been a disaster.
He added that Pakistan had suffered horrendously from domestic terrorism with huge loss of lives and destruction of property.
He said drone strikes had killed thousands of innocent men, women and children.
To express solidarity with the people of the tribal areas and protest against drone strikes, Imran said PTI would launch a peace rally in Waziristan on October 7.
Talking about the sacrilegious film about the Holy Prophet (PBUH), he said, “We should not allow the Western governments to get away with the excuse that anything can be done because they believe in freedom of expression”.
He said, “This blasphemous movie is a hate crime and should be treated as such”.
