RAWALPINDI - People from different walks of life including representatives of private schools took out a rally here on Saturday in support of the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in their fight against terrorism.

Dozens of rally participants staged a walk from Liaquat Bagh to Jhang Building in an expression of solidarity with Pakistan’s LEAs. Speaking on the occasion, the rally participants including Raja Muhammad Ilyas Kayani, Mirza Shamsher and others said that Pakistan was facing grave external and internal threats and under such circumstances, some elements were conspiring to destabilise Pakistan through creating an atmosphere of collision between the state institutions including the Parliament, Supreme Court and the Pakistan Army.

The representatives of Punjab Teachers Association, SES Teachers Association and Private School Management Association stressed for unity between the state institutions as well as the entire Pakistani nation in order to brave the serious odds and challenges the country was facing.

“The misunderstandings between the state institutions should be resolved with mutual interaction and discussions. The elements who are out to destabilise this country by hatching conspiracies against the institutions must be exposed,” the speakers said adding that the registration of cases against the LEAs and security officials was regrettable.

In Rawalpindi Saddar, a rally was taken out against the corruption of the rulers and in support of the LEAs. Seniors leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Rawalpindi chapter Khawar Butt and Rashid Mehmood slammed the rulers for what they described as their corrupt practices to fill in their pockets and looting the national exchequer.

The PTI leaders severely criticised the role of Chief Minister Balochistan Aslam Raisani saying that the CM spent most of his time in Islamabad instead of looking after the affairs of his province and he should be immediately removed from CM’s portfolio. “Raisani spends 26 out of 30 days in Islamabad.

He should be posted at the Capital Development Authority.

This man is incapable of governing an important province of Pakistan. Incompetent rulers are totally ignorant to Balochsitan’s plight that is resulting in lawlessness,” they said while demanding of the rulers to utilise resources and spend fund for the public welfare.
