FJWU extends admission date on protests





RAWALPINDI  – Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) has extended the admission date for bachelor’s programme session 2012-16.
The Prospectus can be taken from and deposited in the university office from September 17 to 19. The merit list will be displayed on the university notice board and website on September 22.  Fee collection for bachelor’s first merit List candidates shall take place on September 24 and 25.
Meanwhile, the students of Fine Arts Department at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) on Friday organised an exhibition that showcased the diverse and creative work of the students during the whole semester.
Prof Dr Samina Amin Qadir, Vice Chancellor FJWU, inaugurated the exhibition and lauded the marvellous efforts of the students.  Speaking on this occasion she said that the efforts of the students are remarkable and their work is worth matching. The display was a showcase of innovative ideas and notions that came true on hard board, with the efforts of students and teachers.
She also appreciated the efforts of the fine arts faculty members for organising the whole event.
The display comprised of work by 41 students both Graduate and post graduate.
The exhibition featured numerous art objects in the areas of graphics, textile designing, sculpture, miniature, oil painting and printmaking.
In the fields of graphics, students designed promotional and awareness campaigns for different companies especially the campaign on road safety, which was highly appreciated. In miniature the work of Mehreen was marvellous.
She highlighted child trafficking, a very sensitive issue, in a very good manner. Most of the students worked in dying art of Pakistan, Such as puppetry, Balochi carving and Sindhi Ralli. 
Dr Tabassum Shaheen, Raheela Mushtaq, Maimoona Akram and Tahira Noreen supervised the work of the students. The display was attended by a large number of students and faculty members. Students received a fabulous response and admiration from visitors on their every piece of art.
