BAHAWALPUR - The Islamic Banking system, due to its prolific results, is gaining popularity not only in the Islamic countries but all over the world.This was remarked by Islamia University Bahawalpur Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar while addressing a seminar held under the topic of Islamic Banking system jointly arranged by the SBP and IUB.The VC said that Islamic social and economic values were the best as its guarantee peace, progress and prosperity.He urged the media to promote the teachings of Islam to develop awareness about the Islamic socio-economic rules and laws for bright future. SBP Joint Director Munir Ahmed Mansori delivered a special lecture on the occasion and highlighted the importance and need of the Islamic Banking.He stressed that Islam did not restrict profit gaining rather forbid interest, adding that this was the only system that offered stability and security to economy and ensure prosperity.SBP Bahawalpur Manager Khadim Hussain in his address highlighted the basic purpose of the seminar. He said that the Islamic Banking system had been practiced in the country since 1979 and currently eight Banks were providing full-fledged Islamic Banking System facilities.
