Lawyers join protest against profane movie

LAHORE – On the call of the Punjab Bar Council (PbBC), the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) on Saturday observed a strike to protest against a profane movie made in the US.
The protesting lawyers called for forging unity, saying that all political parties should be united against such an act that had hurt the Ummah. The lawyers called the act a shameful display of cowardice that had not been allowed by any religion. They demanded stern punishment for the persons behind this act.
The lawyers also criticised the government for not registering a strong protest with the US administration over the issue. “Previously, the American government was involved in the desecration of Holy Quran and now it has backed the movie,” the lawyers alleged. They called on the United Nations to take notice of the sacrilegious film. They said that such incidents could push world into a chaos.
