Non-completion of college construction irks residents

RAWALPINDI  – Non-completion of construction work of government girls’ college near Saddar Police Station road has provoked resentment among the residents.
Construction work of the college was started six years before but it is still incomplete and even no signs are there that the remaining work will be completed or not, said a group of residents.  The contractor has left the construction work incomplete seven months back due to non-payment. Who will make payment, it is not known to anyone, as government is not taking any interest in this respect, said Nawaz, a shopkeeper.
We observed hunger strike for the continuous one year and then the construction was started but we are now left high and dry as construction is still incomplete making mockery of our efforts to get a college for our daughters, said Shamas Din, a government employee.
The residents urged the government to be compassionate on their nerves and   provide funds for completion of construction work otherwise they will be forced to hold protest rallies.
