Routes along Ring Road, BRTS to be reorganised


LAHORE – The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) will reorganise urban routes along Ring Road and Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) to provide commuters easy access from other destination. A survey in this connection will start from Monday.
“To facilitate commuters, a comprehensive mechanism for the development of feeder routes with the MBTS and Ring Road will be prepared,” company chairman Khawaja Ahmad Hassan said while addressing the LTC meeting on Saturday. LTC Vice Chairman Mehar Ishtiaq, Acting CEO Amjad Hussain and Finance GM Mariam Khawar also attended the meeting.
The chairman said the company had developed connectivity with adjacent cities of Lahore and air-conditioned buses had been plied from Lahore to Raiwind, Sheikhupura, Maraka, Kasur and other areas. According to him, 410 new buses are plying on city’s various routes. .
Hassan said that 30 urban routes had been made operational and that the new buses had been made operative from Allama Iqbal International Airport to Valencia Town. “A comprehensive plan has been evolved to provide efficient bus service from Bahria Town to Shaukat Khanam, Green Town to General Bus Stand and Railway Station to Thokar Niaz Baig at the earliest,” he maintained.
Hassan appreciated the efforts of LTC management.
