Lahore: Beggars have submitted a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC), complaining about the ‘coercive measures’ by the district administration.

The petitioner stated that he is a disabled person and recites “Naats” in different religious functions, as well as mosques. The petitioner informed court that the authorities are taking coercive measures to stop such activity.

Judge Ijazul Ahsan disposed of the petition, directing the District Coordination Officer (DCO) to hear the petitioner and all other concerned parties and decide the matter, in accordance with law through a reasoned order as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of three weeks.
