The Druggists and Chemists Association Sheikhupura observed a complete shutdown against the imposition of Amended Drug Ordinance 2015, demanding withdrawal of the law forthwith. The medical stores owners and wholesalers took out a rally and staged a sit-in to press their demand for end to ‘raids’ on medical stores and registration of “what they called” unjust FIRs against the owners. They demanded the government to withdraw the ‘draconian law’ otherwise they would be constrained to shut their business. Druggists and Chemists Association District president Rana Shoaib dubbed the drug act a [black law] and alleged that the PMLN government is hell-bent on ruin the medicine business. He demanded the prime minister to intervene and order the Punjab government to withdraw the act to provide relief to large numbers of traders dealing in medicines business.

On the other hand, the general public particularly patients experienced a lot of troubles due to closure of medical stores in town and cities of both district Sheikhupura and Nankana districts.
