Govt is launching SMS service for passport acquisition: Chaudary Nisar

Government is initiating SMS Raabta service to facilitate people in getting passports, Federal Interior Minister Chaudary Nisar Ali Khan revealed in a press conference.

“People would be kept abreast with the processing of their applications and they would be able to give their feedback as well” he stated.

The Interior Minister also said thirteen centers will be established in the country, starting from Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi.

He said that delivery of passports at homes would be initiated from Islamabad/Rawalpindi next month and will be expanded to the entire country in a span of six months.

The Interior Minister revealed that 5,000 individuals will be removed from the Exit Control List (ECL).

“The names of 5,000 individuals will be excluded from the ECL. We’ll soon wrap up the blacklisting of 65,000 people. The government is also introducing a separate system for foreigners in ECL,” Nisar added.

The Interior Minister added that corrupt employees of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) will be fired from their jobs.

“138 have been suspended under this policy,” he claimed.
