Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought all documents in the case filed against acquittal of former president Asif Ali Zardari in two NAB references.

A two-member bench of IHC comprising Justice Noor ul Haq N. Qureshi and Justice Amir Farooq took up the case for hearing today.

NAB prosecutor Chaudhry Riaz appeared and told the court that evidence was not furnished and witnesses did not appear in the trial court against Asif Ali Zardari.

“Former joint secretary of NAB, Hassan Waseem Afzal did not appear in the court for recording evidence despite many efforts”, he added.

The court remarked “during trial court you had opportunity to furnish evidence. You would have issued non bail able arrest warrants of any witness who had not appeared.

The court while ordering for furnishing all the documents related to case adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.

Accountability court had accepted the plea for exoneration of former president Asif Ali Zardari in ARY Gold and Ursis tractor references.
