KARACHI - Javed Mansoor has been named to lead a 16-member Karachi Blues squad in the qualifying rounds of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy which goes into action here from September 17, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday.

Eight teams drawn in two pools would be battling for the two qualifying berths. One top team from each pool will qualify for the Quaid-e-Azam Cricket Trophy. The matches of the tournament will be played here at the National Stadium, UBL Sports Complex and NBP Sports Complex Ground Karachi and Niaz Stadium Hyderabad.

Groups: Pool "A" : Karachi Blues, Faisalabad, Abbotabad, FATA. Pool "B": Lahore Blues, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sialkot. Other members of the team included Ramiz Raja Jr, Bahram Khan, Naveed Khan, Saeed Bin Nasir, Muhammad Waqas, Babar Agha, Saud Shakeel, Faraz Ahmed, Mirza Ahsan Jamil, Basit Ali, Zohaib Shera, Waqar Anwar, Raza ul Hasan, Noor Wali and Moazzam Malik. All the selected players are advised to report Azam Khan at Southend Club, DHA on Wednesday at 3pm.
