Pakistan People’s Party senior leadership on Sunday has visited Jati Umra to offer condolences to Nawaz Sharif
on the death of his wife, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, along with senior PPP leaders including Sherry Rehman, PPP Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira, Rehman Malik, Sardar Latif Khosa, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Haji Azizur Rehman Chan and Farhatullah Babar, arrived at the residence of Nawaz Sharif and offered Fateha for the deceased.
Opposition leader in the National Assembly and PML-N President Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was also present on this occasion.
According to the PML-N sources, the leadership of both parties discussed the role and struggle of Begum Kulsoom for supremacy of democracy in the country.
Asif Zardari said that Begum Kulsoom was a brave lady and she would be remembered for her struggle for the country, adding that her death was a great loss for the Sharif family.
Zardari said the PPP was with the Sharif family and the PML-N in this hour of grief.
Nawaz Sharif said on the occasion that it was painful for him that he could not spend time with his ailing wife in her last moments.
He thanked the PPP leadership for its support, visit and participation of its delegation in the funeral prayers of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.
