ISLAMABAD - UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, has arrived in Islamabad on a three-day official visit.
"During the three-day trip, the High Commissioner Filippo Grandi is expected to hold meetings with top government officials, refugee representatives and other partners", UNHCR said in a statement issued here yesterday.
Diplomatic sources told The Nation that Filippo Grandi arrived from Kabul where he held meetings with senior Taliban ministers and discussed the refugee crisis.
Filippo Grandi is also expected to meet President Arif Alvi and Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and other senior officials and would discuss with them the issues concerning the Afghan refugees living in Pakistan.
