Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Friends of Pakistan have pledged over 5 billion dollars assistance to the country. Talking to media in Tokyo, Pakistan foreign minister said that Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has pledged US$ 700 million aid, while Iran promised 330 million dollars and Turkey announced 100 million dollars aid for Pakistan. Iran has also announced to initiate the gas line project with Pakistan that would have positive impact over the economy of Pakistan, he further said. Qureshi expressed gratitude to Saudi Arab, Iran and Turkey for their assistance adding that the aid will be used in five key sectors of Pakistan economy. He especially expressed gratitude to Japan for hosting the donors conference.
