This country, particularly Lahore, has become a haven for outlaws. Robbers walk into peoples homes as a matter of routine, loot their property and treat the inmates violently. It seems the country is being ruled by dacoits. There is a need to focus on the increasing street crime to limit free movement of dacoits and robbers in the city. A crackdown should be launched against them. Robbers have become a challenge for the Lahore police as well as nuisance for the people who lose their cash, valuables, belongings, cell phones, cars and motorcycles, sometimes even their lives. The investigation and judicial system are simply out of reach for the common man. -IJAZ AHMAD QAZI, Lahore, April 16.
