Chairman WAPDA Raghib Abbas quits, ex-secretary W&P Zafar Mehmood replaces him

ISLAMABAD- Chairman Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Syed Raghib Abbas Shah tendered resignation from his office today.

Sources said that Raghib Abbas Shah resigned from his position due to his personal engagements. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has accepted the resignation of Syed Raghib Abbas Shah. Establishment Division had appointed him as chairman WAPDA in September 2012 after the approval of former PM Raja Pervez Ashraf. Shah also served as WAPDA’s member (water) and held the slot of acting chairman after the tenure of former chairman Shakeel Durrani ended. Raghib Abbas Shah joined WAPDA as junior engineer (Civil) in 1974 after graduation in Civil Engineering from NED College. Former secretary Water & Power Zafar Mehmood has been appointed new chairman WAPDA.
