LAHORE - Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains has suspended from service five policemen including the station house officer (SHO) of Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Area police station.

A police spokesperson said on Thursday that two police inspectors and three assistant sub inspectors were suspended from service on the charges of misuse of powers. The Lahore police chief has also ordered the DIG (Operations) and DIG (Investigations) to initiate departmental proceedings against the tainted-cops.

According to official sources, a citizen, Qari Muhammad Siddique, appeared before the CCPO and complained to the police chief that he had been falsely implicated in a cheque dishonour case. The police investigators later got him declared as proclaimed offender even without notifying the accused party.

The CCPO suspended Inspector Mubeen-Uddin Butt, SHO Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Area police station after the allegations proved true against him during an initial inquiry.

Similarly, while taking strict action on public complaints the CCPO also suspended from services Inspector Arif Hussain, In-charge investigations Harbanspura police station, and ASI Liaqat Ali of Islampura investigation police.

Muhammad Amin Wains has also suspended from service T-ASI Pervaiz Akhtar and ASI Iqbal Azhar of Shera Kot police station on the charges of misconduct and misuse of powers, the spokesperson said.
