LAHORE - PML-Q leader Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi on Thursday once again slammed the government “for having no foreign policy”.

“Had there existed any foreign policy, the government would not need Parliament’s assurance of assistance to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over Yemen conflict,” the PML-Q leader who held the office of Chief Minister Punjab in Musharraf regime remarked during a press conference.

Elahi stated the state has already failed to take a clear position for extending its help to the kingdom. He added: “Prime Minister, who stated that Pakistan would stand shoulder to shoulder with Saudi Arabia, is now trying to explain to Saudi Arabia and UAE that they have not been able to fully understand the resolution.”

If the UAE Minister took pride in expressing anger over Pakistani government’s position on Saudi-Yemen crisis, the response given by a government’s senior minister was enough to speak for their wisdom and diplomatic norms, Elahi held.

About the Judicial Commission, he said the entire nation is pinning high hopes with the results as all the political parties except the PML-N have pointed out that 2013 elections were rigged.

He added PML-Q would be represented by Dr Khalid Ranjha, while the party had submitted evidence relating to rigging with the commission.

He also alleged that former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry was the mastermind of the rigging of 2013 general elections, as Iftikhar had no business to address the Returning Officers (ROs).

The then president, Asif Ali Zardari, had also been saying that “it was the election of ROs” as the former CJ was distributing shields among them, Elahi recalled.
