LAHORE - Farkhanda Waseem Afzal, a DMG officer, is approved as Punjab Ombudsperson, it is learnt.
She has a vast experience to have served on different key postings across the country. She preferred to remain an OSD for long along with her husband rather accepting a junior seat.
She was retired from Civil Services Academy as DG in BPS-22. Farkhanda had done Masters in Management from Cambridge University while Masters in Economics from Punjab University. She also served as Director Federal Ombudsman. She also worked on important slots in Punjab like Secretary Services and Cooperatives departments.
The office of Punjab Ombudsperson was lying vacant since the retirement of last office bearer Dr Mira Phailbus in February this year. However, according to official sources, a panel of three personalities including former bureaucrat Farkhanda Waseem Afzal, Salima Hashmi and Naheed Rizvi was forwarded to the chief minister for approval.
