Rawalpindi - Punjab Teachers Union city chapter on Thursday staged a protest rally on Murree Road against Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) for declaring bogus results of primary and middle classes during which hundreds of students were announced fail.
The rally started from Rawalpindi Press Club and culminated at District Education Office. It was led by PTU General Secretary Imtiaz Abbasi, District President Syed Hamid Ali Shah and Chairman Raja Shahid Mubarak.
The participants of the rally were holding placards and banners
mentioning “Abolish PEC” and “The system of PEC is not acceptable”.
Addressing the rally, the speakers said that PEC declared bogus results of primary and middle classes in which all the students were declared failed.
They alleged that all this was done by PEC under a well thought planning to victimize teachers. They said that the government should abolish PEC immediately as it was made for humiliating the teachers. The mess of teachers on Murree Road triggered a massive traffic jam that created problems for commuters and pedestrians.
