Rawalpindi - Former deputy director of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and member of Joint Investigation Team (JIT), Ghulam Asghar Jatoi appeared before an anti-terrorism court yesterday to record his statement in Benazir Bhutto (BB) murder case.
Earlier, the court had issued arrest warrants for the officer for not appearing before the court despite receiving summons.
According to details, Anti-Terrorism Court Number 1 took up the high-profile case in heavily guarded Adiala Jail during which prosecution witness Ghulam Asghar Jatoi testified his statement. The court made his statement part of the case record.
In his statement, Jatoi told the court that he had arrested the two accused former CPO Syed Saud Aziz and former SP Khurram Shehzad and obtained their physical remand from a court of law, besides collecting other evidence.
Meanwhile, the cross-examination against prosecution witness could not be initiated due to absence of defence lawyers. The court deferred hearing of the case till April 18 with directing the defence lawyers to cross examine the witness on the next date of hearing.
