ISLAMABAD - Federal ministers when asked about the return of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after undergoing medical treatment in the United Kingdom have given conflicting statements.

Federal Minister of Information Pervaiz Rasheed stated that the prime minister’s health is improving and that the doctors are satisfied with his reports, he added that the prime minister will return to the country in a few days’ time. On the other hand, Federal Minister of Defence Khawaja Asif has stated that the prime minister will return from the UK after one and a half month.

Meanwhile, State Minister Abid Sher Ali was of the view that the PM will be back by next week. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Naeemul Haq criticised the Federal Ministers over their unawareness with regard to the PM’s return to the country, stating that the government is "confused" about the prime minister’s return from UK.

Speaking in Sialkot on Saturday, Khawaja Asif revealed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan within one and a half month after undergoing treatment in London.

He said this while addressing the convocation of a Medical College in Sialkot.

Asif said that PM Sharif would inaugurate Sialkot-Lahore Motorway after returning to Pakistan. The minister stressed the need for introducing advanced medical technologies in medical colleges to bring them at par with the international standard.
