Nine persons including two women were killed in various incidents of violence and road accidents in different areas over the past 48 hours.

In Sahiwal, four persons were killed in different raod accident here the other day.

According to rescue sources, a speeding car crushed two bikers on Lahore-Multan Road near Arifwala. Both the bikers identified as Muhammad Asif and Muhammad sustained critical injuries and were admitted to hospital. In another incident, a truck driver Allah Ditta was killed while conductor Waheed got injured on Sahiwal-Multan Road near Chak 118/12-L.

On the other hand, two women identified as Shakeela and Asia sustained critical injuries in a road accident and succumbed to their injuries in DHQ Hospital Sahiwal. Another biker Riaz Ahmad also died in a collision on Sahiwal-Pakpattan Road.

In Toba Tek Singh, unidentified assailants murdered a farmer in Chak 385/JB Salahrian here the other night. the Saddr Police said that deceased Munawar Hussain was returning home from mosque after Usha prayers.

He was about to enter in his house when two veiled assailants, lying in ambush, put red chilli powder into his eyes and stabbed him with sharp knives repeatedly. As a result, he died instantly. The police have registered case against unidentified killers on the complaint of Kashif Hussain, son of the deceased man.

In Kasur, a person died and two others injured in a collision between two motorcycles in Noorpur Chatthan the other day.

The police said that Robin Masih along with his brother was on the way back home. All of sudden another motorcycle, being rode by Ali Akbar appeared from the opposite direction and collided with the bike. As a result, Robin Masih died on the spot and his brother and the other biker sustained critical injured.

In another incident, a speeding tractor-trolley crushed a person identified as Ali Ahmed Shah, resident of Naya Bazaar area, on Raiwind Road near Bhatti International Hospital.

Rescue sources said the deceased person was on the way back home when the tractor-trolley coming from the opposite direction hit him. He was shifted to hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way.

In another incident, a person identified as Imran was crushed in a collision between a Mazda and trailer in Phool Nagar area while a motorcyclist identified as Abdul Ghaffar was killed by a coaster near Nymat Chowk. The police have registered separate cases of each incident.

Man kills sister over‘insistence to return home’

A man shot dead his sister over her insistence to return to her husband’s house here on Saturday.

Reportedly, one and half year ago Nazia, sister of Razwan alias Jogi, resident of Mohallah Islampura, Malakwal was married off to Ghulam Kanwal of neighbouring village Kalowal and Ghulam Kanwal sister got married with Razwan. Nazia had a son about three months old from the wedlock. Some dispute took place between the two families at which Razwan brought his sister from her in-laws to home. She, however, wanted to go to her in-laws to live with her husband. But her brother stopped her to do so. Following her insistence, Razwan took her to a nearby brick-kiln on motorcycle where he shot her dead in broad daylight in front of labour working t the kiln. Husband of the woman Ghulam Kanwal informed the Malakwal Police about the incident. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
