LAHORE: A session court yesterday issued notice to CCPO and SHO of Civil line police station in an application seeking registration of case against Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif for allegedly threatening members of civil society through his speech regarding Orange Line Metro train project.
Abdullah Malik, a member of the civil society, had filed the petition submitting that chief minister threatened the members of the civil society in his speeches carrying ‘different’ gestures. The petitioner said that CM said in his speech that he would build this project and would take every step to complete it.
He stated that the lives of the members of the civil society were under threat after the alleged threats by Punjab CM.–Staff Reporter
According to Malik, their only sin was that they raised voice against the Orange Line project.
The petitioner prayed to the court to direct police to register FIR against Punjab CM for allegedly threatening members of the civil society.
After hearing initial arguments, Zafar Iqbal Sial issued notice to CCPO and SHO of Civil Lines Police and sought reply by April 27.
