GUJRANWALA-The Gujranwala Electric Supply company (Gepco) project of receiving online applications for new connections has failed as it has directed the Subdivisional officers (SDOs) to adopt the old procedure again for the purpose.

The Gepco authorities have recently adopted the new online procedure to provide new domestic and commercial connections for the consumers from 15th of March 2018.

The consumers could get new connection only within 30 days through new online procedure but just after some days the practice has been dropped by the authorities due to problems being faced by the staff and subordinate officers.

Sources said that it was not possible for the Gujranwala Electric Supply company officials and officers to carry on the new procedure without trained staff and modern equipments due to which citizens were also facing troubles to get connections in short period.

Now, the executive engineer of Gepco has directed the SDOs in written that they could adopt the old practice of manual application system instead of online applications procedure.
