SADIQABAD-The policies introduced by Pakistan People's Party (PPP) South Punjab President Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood not only strengthened the party's structural organisation at grass-root level but helped it grew.
Union Conical Bhatta Wahan Vice Chairman Haji Muhammad Tariq stated while talking to media here the other day.
Highlighting personal life of the former governor, he lauded that the Makhdoom has spent his entirely life with simplicity and his three sons - Makhdoom Murtaza Mehmood, Makhdoom Ali Mehmood and Makhdoom Mutafa Mehmood are following in the footprints of their father.
He asserted that under the sagacious leadership Makhdoom Ahmed, the party would win the upcoming elections. He further said that Nawaz Sharif neglected the Sindh, adding that the PPP will defeat both the PML-N and PTI in the elections.

ECP sets up more display centres


GUJRANWALA-The Election Commission of Pakistan has increased the number of display centres from 434 to 1,500 in Gujranwala Division to facilitate the citizens in preparation of voter lists. Regional Election Commissioner Chaudhry Aleem Shahab said that the purpose of increasing display centres was to facilitate more and more people for registration, correction or transfer of their votes. They said now, 370 centres were working in Gujranwala, 331 in Gujarat, 250 in Sialkot, 246 in Norwal, 161 in Hafizabad and 142 in Mandi Bahaud Din district. Likewise, seven registration officers and 141 assistant registration officers have been appointed throughout the division to resolve the complaints/objections of the citizens. Besides, 27 revising authorities will also work from 8.00am to 4.00 pm till 24th April.
Details of the vote registration can be obtained by sending NIC number to 8300 through SMS while lists of these display centres has also been placed at Election Commission of Pakistan's website.
