KASUR-Despite court orders, a number of self-proclaimed doctors have been playing with the precious lives of people across Kasur district without let or hindrance.

According to the report of a survey conducted by this correspondent, a number of unlicensed 'doctors' have been running their clinics with impunity in Kasur City and suburbs in spite of court verdict seeking an immediate end to quackery in the district.

During the survey, dwellers of different localities lambasted the authorities concerned for turning a blind eye to the grave situation. "The quacks here are putting people to death on a daily basis by administering them wrong injections and by prescribing them substandard medicines," they flayed, adding that the authorities were allegedly involved in receiving bribes from the quacks to allow them to continue their illegal practice.

They demanded Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif take notice of the situation and order the officials concerned to ensure implementation of court's order.
