Opposition leader in National Assembly (NA), Syed Khursheed Shah has said that there should be no restriction on freedom of expression otherwise what difference will be left between democracy and dictatorship.

While talking to the journalists outside the Parliament house on Tuesday, he said that the names for caretaker PM suggested by PTI left me in shock. There is no reason to sit with PTI now.

He added Nawaz Sharif should also be cautious while talking against national institutions

There should be no restriction on freedom of expression otherwise what difference will be left between democracy and dictatorship but it is also based on reality that freedom of expression should not be used against the state, he held.

Nawaz Sharif should not have talked against state and institutions. PPP has never thought against the state nor does the law of the time allow doing so. Judiciary has the right to summon the Chief Executive any time, he added.

While responding to a question, he said that we have heard about names for caretaker Prime Minister (PM) suggested from PTI which give us a jolt . It is the responsibility of PM and Opposition leader to announce the name of caretaker PM.

Consultation was underway with PTI in this regard. PTI never contacted us but we made contacts with PTI every time because we want to take everybody alongside us, he underlined.

There is no need to sit with PTI now after announcing the names of caretaker PM by them because the names they have to give us have already reached to us through media, he added

PTI wants to make the matter of caretaker PM controversial but we have to decide carefully now. We have said to Government to finalize the name of caretaker PM till 15th May, he held.

He further said that there is no last word in politics. The foe of today can be a friend of tomorrow.

We always believe on dialogue with political forces so the doors of dialogue  are not closed for anyone including Nawaz Sharif, he added.
