LAHORE - A woman and her three-year-old daughter were burnt alive when fire broke out at a house on the Millat Road near Chungi Amarsidhu.  Rescue workers late Monday said the victims were shifted to the Lahore General Hospital where they succumbed to burns. The bodies were sent to the morgue fro autopsy. The deceased were identified as Malaika and her daughter Aizik. It was not clear yet what caused the blaze. Authorities were investigating the incident.

Road accident claims life

A man died and 20 others wounded when a speedy bus bumped into a dumper in Manga Mandi on Monday, rescue workers said.

Police said the road mishap took place near Adda Plot. An eyewitness told the police that a speedy bus smashed into the dumper from the rear side. As a result, the dumper ran over a motorcyclist who died on the spot. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Karim, a police constable.  At least 20 passengers were shifted to hospitals on ambulances. The police were investigating the incident.
