BAJAUR AGENCY The number of militants, who have surrendered, rose to 100 as 29 more militants handed over themselves to the security forces in Tehsil Nawagi area of Bajaur Agency on Monday. Sources informed that the surrendered militants had their links with an Afghan commander, Qari Zia-ur-Rahman. Out of the 29 militants, nine are the close associates of commander Zia. Maj Zabih and Cap Usman exposed the surrendered Taliban before media. Talking to media persons, Maj Zabih said the surrendered militants belonged to Afghan-based outfit, Qari Zia-ur-Rahman group. He said the nine of the surrendered commanders had been identified as Commander Khan Afzal, Rahim Syed, Manda Ali Zahir Shah, Abdullah Tavez khan and Roohullah Khan. He added that all of those militants were wanted by the security forces for their indulgence in various terrorist activities. He added that during the last two months more than 100 hundred militants had surrendered to the security forces. He maintained that with the surrender of militants the charming valley have been cleared of militants, adding that a weapons and explosive material in large quantity were also recovered during search the operation.
