I-Day celebrations go on


WAH CANTT - The Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF) held various events to celebrate Independence Day in which a large number of people participated, says a press release.
Sports events were held under the auspices of POF Sports Control Board. The POF Board chairman led a walk – started from Sher Shah Park and ended at Jinnah Park in which POF employees, children, ladies, special children and senior citizens participated. A cycle rally was also arranged.
Addressing the participant, Lt Gen Muhammad Ahsan Mehmood, HI(M) Chairman POF Board said the freedom was a great blessing which was achieved after the numerous sacrifices rendered by our forefathers and now it was our responsibility to protect it.
“The value of freedom can only be realised by those who are deprived of it. We all have to reaffirm our pledge to make untiring efforts for the progress and prosperity of the motherland,” the chairman added.
The Public Relations Department of the POF arranged documentary films on creation of Pakistan in Jinnah Park to inform the youth about the Pakistan Movement.
Later, the chairman gave away trophies and prizes to the position holders of cycle rally.
