ISLAMABAD - Akira Kono, Charge d.Affairs, Embassy of Japan in Pakistan on Friday shown his concern on security issues and the problems being faced to the existing Japanese investors and new potential investors in Pakistan.

Akira Kono, Charge d.Affairs, Embassy of Japan in Pakistan called on Mohammad Zubair, Chairman, Board of Investment to discuss the issues relating to Japanese investors in Pakistan.

Akira Kono, congratulated Zubiar as new BoI Chief. He also highlighted that Japan, Pakistan have a very good relation to promote Investment and trade. The Japanese companies are successfully operating their business in Pakistan.

  However, he has shown his concern on security issues and the problems being faced to the existing Japanese investors and new potential investors in Pakistan. He specifically highlighted the case of M/s Yamaha company and requested the Chairman, Board of Investment to resolve their problem, to which the BOI, Chief assured him to resolve the problem on top priority basis as it was originally planned to give a positive signal to other Japanese potential investors. 

During the meeting Chairman, BOI informed about the new Government policy initiatives and its top priority to overcome on energy crises, security issues and attraction of FDI promotion to put Pakistan on a fast track to attain sustainable economic growth. The Chairman, BOI has said that Board of Investment will fully support the existing Japanese investors as well as potential investors for the mutual benefit of the two countries. The Government is also focusing on infrastructure development to promote industries in Pakistan. 

The Charge d.Affairs showed his keen interest for further investment and trade promotion in its dominant areas of business and at the end he thanked the Chairman, BOI for his full support and cooperation.
