LAhore - Mian Masood Ahmad and Major Mobin Shahid were elected president and secretary of Pakistan Wushu Federation (PWF) in a general council meeting here on Friday.

The general council meeting and the elections of the PWF were held according to the rules and regulations of National Sports Policy 2005 and in the light of judgments of High Court and Supreme Court. Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) observer Malik Masood Javed and Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) representative Tahir Saeed were the members  of election committee. The representatives of all affiliated units of PWF except Police attended the meeting.

The elected office-bearers are: Mian Masood Ahmad (president), Kh Farooq Saeed (SVP), Nasir Mehmood of Wapda, Faizullah of Balochistan, Syed Mehmoodul Hassan of Railways, Khizer Ullah of KPK (vps), Major Mobin Shahid of Army (secretary), Ishaq Ali of Balochistan (joint secretary), M Zubair of Sindh (associate secretary), Miss Tabinda of Army (associate secretary F), Rana Umair Majeed of Punjab (treasurer), Asghar Ali Gill of Islamabad, Altaf Hussain of FATA, Miftah Fazil of Punjab (executive members).

The house strongly approved a ban of 10 years for attending the illegal general council meeting of POA. The house took serious note on the conduct of Malik Iftikhar for threatening the representative of affiliated units of the PWF.

House approved the amendments in the constitution of the PWF to bring it in the line with model constitution of the POA and the PSB and according to the rules of National Sports Policy and the decisions of Supreme Court.

The newly elected office-bearers announced the holding of 18th National Wushu Championship in November under the managements of Pakistan Army Sports Directorate, Rawalpindi.
