KARACHI - The ministerial committee of Sindh government on Friday held meeting with the delegation of PML-N at the CM House and handed them over the draft of Sindh Local Government Law 2013.

The PML-N’s MPAs led by their parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly, Irfanullah Marwat discussed their input about the proposed local government system in the province.

The PPP’s Sindh government’s ministerial committee led by senior minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Law Minister Dr Sikandar Mandhro, works Minister Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, information minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and advisor to CM for finance department Syed Murad Ali Shah took part in negotiations by government side. PML-N MPAs include Sorath Thebo, Haji Shafi Jamote and Hamayun Khan assisted their parliamentary leader.

An official statement issued from the CM House said both the sides discussed the draft law of Sindh government and decided to bring the new law with consensus of all the parties.

The PML-N delegations told the committee that they will give their suggestions in written too. Both sides decided to continue consultation on the new local government law.

Meanwhile, senior minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon telephoned the nationalist leader and chief of Qaumi Awami Tehreek, Ayaz Latif Palijo and talked him on the draft law of LG system.

It may be noted the government’s ministerial committee already held meeting with the MQM and ANP in this regard.

Earlier, ministerial committee met with Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah at the CM House and briefed him about the progress of consultation with the political parties on formulating new LG law.

The ministerial committee has yet not meet with the PTI, PML-F and other political forces.

It may be noted that Sindh government has summoned the Sindh Assembly session on August 19. It is expected that government will table the LG bill for discussion in the House.
