UET entry test on tomorrow


LAHORE  - The University of Engineering and Technology will hold combined entry test for admissions in engineering institutions of Punjab on August 18 at 10am.
The test will be held simultaneously at UET Lahore, UET Taxila, Garrison University Jinnah Campus Lahore, College of Engineering BZU Multan, Islamia University Bahawalpur, NFC Faisalabad, University of Gujrat, Islamic University Islamabad, Government College of Rasul, Dr AQ Khan Institute of Technology Mianwali, and UET Kala Shah Kaku Campus. According to UET spokesman, special measures would be adopted to ensure secrecy and transparency of the test. The result of the tests will be declared on August 25 and available at the web.
Entry test arrangements
Lahore Commissioner Imdadullah Bosal has said that the students will be facilitated maximum during the entry test for admissions to medical and dental colleges of Punjab.
He said that the traffic issue would be addressed by the police around examination centers and it will also specify the areas for parking of vehicles. The commissioner assured that during entry examinations, the uninterrupted supply of electricity would be ensured.
In this regard, Imdadullah chaired a meeting. Lahore DCO Naseem Sadiq, Traffic SP M Azhar, Health EDO Dr Zulfiqar, Additional Commissioner Ghulam Sarwar Noor, ACG Dr Noorul-Ain Fatima, Dr Mansoor Ghani of UHS and other officers attended the meeting.
LCWU
Lahore College for Women University started admission in BS Hons (4 Years) MS/M.Phil and Ph.D Programs for the academic year 2013. Prospectus are available in the campus for 39 BS, 27 MS/ M.Phil and 16 Ph.D disciplines. LCWU VC Dr. Sabiha Mansoor said the varsity has reserved seats for backward districts and for other provinces as well.
Seats also have been allocated for foreign national students, sports, Hafiza Quran and disabled students.
The process of BS Hons admissions will be completed after the declaration of FA/ F.Sc results by various boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education.  Prospectus along with admission forms are available in the campus and also be downloaded from LCWU’s website (www.lcwu.edu.pk). The schedule for University test will be announced next week.
PU meeting
The Punjab University in collaboration with the Pakistan National Forum held a meeting regarding Federal Planning Commission’s five year plan for 2018 and Vision 2025 at Committee Room of the Vice Chancellor’s office.
Former Chief of Naval Staff Admiral (r) Yastoor ul Haq Malik presided over the meeting while Acting PU VC Dr Liaqat Ali, Dr Zakria Zakir, Dr Ehsan Malik, Dr Akhter, President Pakistan National Forum Col (r) Ikram Ullah Khan, former finance minister Salman Shah, Lt Gen (r) Nishat Ahmed, Lt Gen (r) Naseer Akhter, Maj Gen (r) Rahat Lateef, Maj Gen (r) Tanveer Malik, Maj Gen (r) Saeed uddin Qazi, industrialist Jamil A Naz and other experts participated in the meeting.
The meeting discussed expected priorities and projects of the government for next five years and 12 years plans in detail. The meeting aimed at assisting the government in setting priorities and highlighting the importance of various issues needed to be addressed in the light of opinion of experts.
