Pomi Butt, 7 others granted bail

GUJRANWALA - A court in Gujranwala on Saturday granted bail to Pomi Butt, accused of inciting and leading PML-N workers to pelt stones on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers and leaders while the Azadi march was passing through the city, reported a private TV channel.
As per details, Pomi Butt is the brother of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Khalid Butt.
Moreover, the court also granted bail to seven other persons accused of the incident.
Pomi had reportedly been the main culprit behind incident that took place in Gujranwala on Friday, which involved the pelting of stones on PTI workers during their ‘Azadi’ march - injuring four workers. The PTI leaders called for immediate registration of an FIR against Pomi.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had taken notice of the incident, and on his orders a criminal case was registered at the Gujranwala Sabzi Mandi Police Station against Pomi and his accomplices on charges of pelting stones on the PTI’s rally. Pomi had surrendered himself to the police, and was arrested with his accomplices. The case had been registered under Sections 506, 147 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
