ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has accepted the resignation of Federal Minister for Climate Change Mushahidullah Khan.
Mushahidullah Khan held a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today to give him an explanation over his controversial interview to the BBC. The Prime Minister had sought an explanation from the minister over his controversial remarks.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif accepted Mushahidullah’s resignation which was formally tendered today.
According to reports, Mushahidullah presented his clarification to the prime minister over the BBC interview in which he accused the former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt. General Zaheerul Islam of hatching a conspiracy against the government and military leadership to seize power during the sit-in of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) last year.
