NEW YORK:  United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has condemned the bomb attack which killed former Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada and more than a dozen other people in Shadi Khan village of Attock district on Sunday.

According to a statement issued by his spokesperson, the UN Secretary-General called for bringing to justice those responsible for the crime and expressed his sympathies to the people and government of Pakistan and extended his condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a good recovery.

The Secretary General reiterated that nothing justifies terrorism. Meanwhile, the European Union has assured continued support to Pakistan's efforts to fight terrorism.This was stated by President of the EU in a condolence message on the martyrdom of Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada in a terrorist attack. The EU President also expressed condolences and sympathies with the bereaved families of those killed in the attack.
