As Vin Diesel, Paul’s close friend and co-star received an award for the action/adventure category for Furious 7 at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards, he paid a tribute to the late actor Paul Walker. He said, "I can't stand here and be rewarded like this without talking about somebody very important to us…Paul Walker is here in spirit with us.”
While talking to the audience in Los Angeles, he thanked Paul’s family for their continuous support in completing the movie even after Paul had passed away in the car crash accident. "It's Paul Walker's family – his parents and his brothers – that kept us encouraged while we were making Furious 7,” he commented. About Paul’s daughter who was also a part of the audience, he had said, “there is one very, very special teen here, and her name is Meadow Walker." Previously, Diesel named his new born daughter ‘Pauline’, simply as a tribute to his friend who died while doing what he loved.
He referred to the Furious cast members as his family. "We are a true, true, true family.” He said. He made it clear that Paul had been way too precious for them to be forgotten. At the event, Paul (1973-2013) was also given a posthumous Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actor: Action.
