On June 3, 1947, the British government of India announced that the two states, India and Pakistan, will be independent on August 15. Quaid-e-Azam, Mohammad Ali Jinnah became the first Governor General of Pakistan while Liaqat Ali Khan became the first prime minister of the state.

Quaid-i-Azam in a historical address to the Constituent Assembly, stated “My guiding principle will be justice and complete impartiality, and I am sure that with your support and cooperation, I can look forward to Pakistan becoming one of the greatest nations of the world.”

Quaid wanted to create a country, where every individual could get opportunities to live peacefully and where justice, equality and fairness would always prevail. However, till this day nobody from the civil or military government has fulfilled his dreams. Powerful elite have plundered stat resources to increase their personal wealth. It’s a shame that foul practices like corruption, money laundering and bribery are prevalent in our governing institutions.
