Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik on Friday led a protest in Srinagar against the petitions challenging the validity of Article 35-A.
Soon after the Friday prayers, a huge number of activists, affiliated with the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) - led by Malik - held a protest at Madina Chowk, Maisuma in the commercial hub, Lal Chowk.
Speaking on the occasion, the JKLF chairman urged the people ensure the success of every programme over the issue of article 35-A, announced by the JRL.
He said that JRL will consult with the Kashmiri traders and other associations and unions in order to chalk out a programme for August 27. The Supreme Court of India is hearing a bunch of Public Interest Litigations (PIL) challenging Article 35-A.
In the week starting on August 27, the court will decide whether the matter should be referred to a constitutional bench.
