According to details, Regional Police Officer Muhammad Zubair Dareshk visited the procession from Kotwali police station of Bahawalpur City Circle last night and also reviewed the security arrangements.
DSP City Akhtar Ali Venus and other officials including SHO kotwali were present. DSP City briefed about the security arrangements, expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements and directed the concerned officers to further improve the situation.
The best arrangements have been made, foolproof security is being provided to the processions and gatherings to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the region, the RPO said while issuing instructions to all DPOs in the region regarding Muharram. Stay in touch with members of the Association, Traders Association to maintain an atmosphere of brotherhood, fraternity and law and order.
Operations should be continued to create a sense of security among the citizens, he said. All citizens in the country have equal rights. Protection of their lives and property should be our first priority, he added.

District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Faisal Kamran Monday inspected security on routes of Muharram-ul-Haram processions. According to a spokesman for Bahawalpur police, he visited several areas including that lying within jurisdiction of PS Baghdad-ul-Jadid, PS Abbasnagar and PS Kotwali. He inspected security on routes of Muharram-ul-Haram processions and at Imambargahs. Later, holding a meeting with members of Peace Committee, the DPO said that it was responsibility of police personnel to provide the security at and around Imambargahs and on the routes of processions.
