ISLAMABAD (APP) - Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) will hold a two- day "National Writers Conference and International Seminar on Sufism" from December 19-20. The theme of the conference is "Literature for Peace". Prominent writers and intellectuals from all over the country will participate in the moot. The inaugural session will be held at 3 p.m in the auditorium of Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad where Ustad Hamid Ali Khan will present "Arifana Kalam". Key-note address will be presented by Fakhar Zaman, Chairman, Pakistan Academy of Letters in inaugural session. Introductory remarks, awards distribution and presidential address will also be presented in this session. The conference will consist of four sessions presided over by different prominent figures including ministers. Second sessions of conference will start on December 20 (Saturday) at AIOU in which a seminar named "Writers Role in the Promotion of the World Peace" will be held. Dr.M.Nizam-ud-Din, Vice Chancellor, University of Gujrat will present key-note address. Third session will have another seminar entitled "International Seminar on Sufism". Dr. Hussain Mubashir, Vice Chancellor, University of Health Sciences, Lahore will present key-note address. Third seminar of conference will be held in the forth session with the theme of "Literature for Peace". Key-Note Address will be presented by Dr. Mehmood-ul-Hassan Butt, Vice Chancellor, Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad. The prominent intellectuals and scholars will present their articles on the topic in all seminars. Last session comprises of a Mushaira that features prominent poets who would present their poetic creations. The book stall of PAL's publications will also be held on this occasion at Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad.
