PESHAWAR - At least seven militants, including an active commander, have been killed near Darwazagai, Mohmand Agency, in military action, said an official handout issued by the Frontier Corps on Tuesday. According to the handout, clashes between the security forces and the militants, which continued for three hours, took place in the surrounding areas of Darwazagai, north of Yousafkhel, on Tuesday morning. Around seven militants including their commander Zar Mohammad alias 606 and a soldier of the security forces were subsequently killed in the incident, the handout said. Agencies add: The rival tribes have abducted over 30 people of each other in Kurrum Agency after some unidentified armed men opened fire at a jeep coming from Peshawar to the agency near Hangu, leaving one dead and another injured. The armed men also abducted three people boarded on the jeep. According to media reports, five people of the same family were going to Peshawar from Kurrum Agency for medical treatment of injured Riaz Ali when some unidentified armed men opened fire on them near Hangu. As a result, injured Riaz died while schoolteacher Mukhtar Ali sustained bullet injuries. Mukhtar was taken to Peshawar after first aid in Hangu hospital. The armed men also abducted three other members of the same family including Noor Ali, Sher Ali and Shoaib Ali. The situation became tense in Kurrum Agency after firing on jeep carrying people belonging to Toori tribe. The rival tribes have abducted more than 30 people of each other. Police have condoned off the area and started search of vehicles for recovery of abducted people.
